Shana Brown graduated in 2000 with her degree in sports massage from the Downeast School of Massage in Waldoboro, Maine. She started her massage therapy career working in the spa industry. While working as a therapist at The Spa at Norwich Inn, Norwich CT Shana received extensive training in all aspects of spa work. She especially enjoyed working with all the hydrotherapy modalities including, body wraps, body scrubs and hydrotherapy tubs. Soon after getting her ‘feet wet’ working for the spas Shana was ready to contribute to the medical massage realm.

Shana started working with chiropractors in 2001, assisting them with treatment plans for patients. Shana has had the pleasure of working with Dr. Barnett of Groton, Dr. Amy Collins of Groton and Dr. Cheryl Blankenship of Norwich. She still enjoys working alongside of chiropractors even after expanding her career in the beginning of 2006.

During her massage therapy career, Shana has had the pleasure of traveling throughout Connecticut to arena venues to massage a long list of Rock Stars! From Aerosmith to The Wiggles and everyone in between.

In 2006, Shana took to the road starting a Limited Liability Corporation called Flying Hands, a traveling massage company. The company travels to homes and offices in Southeastern Connecticut region. Shana gives massage with a truly personal touch. The company motto is, Take a Vacation Without Leaving Your Home.

Also in 2006, Shana started working with the WNBA, Connecticut Suns team. She assists the medical team giving sports massage to the players. Basketball season had become Shana‘s new favorite past time! She worked with the Suns girls until the summer of 2010.

In 2012 Flying Hands Massage began work at Strawberry Park Resort Campground in Preston, CT. This made for an awesome work experience. Poolside chair massage was one of Shana’s highlights at the campground. In 2020, Shana closed shop at Strawberry Park due to a world pandemic.

In 2022 a well-rested, post pandemic Shana is super excited to start work at Everything Zen in Groton.
